Louise was a Member of Taunton Concert Band from 1983- 2025
It is with great sadness that Taunton Concert Band has had to say goodbye to our beloved friend Lou Price who has died, too young, from pancreatic cancer.
Having been a flautist in the band, since the age of nine, Lou was a keystone at the heart of the TCB family. She performed with us in so many concerts, competitions, European tours and workshops – whether on flute, piccolo, trumpet or saxophone, she always provided a secure musical footing on which we could all depend.
Her organisational skills will be greatly missed. She excelled at helping the band during all of her years on the committee, particularly in her role as treasurer. She will be especially missed by her flute section for whom she arranged so many special social occasions. Her ability to balance working hard and playing hard was one of her many strengths.
When she gave birth to her son, Elliot, we were thrilled to welcome a band baby to the fold and we have cherished watching him grow to become the fine young man he is today. We will all miss her greatly and are so proud that she chose to wear her band uniform on her final journey – Heaven had better have its best concert band ready to welcome her home.
